what is it they cannot figure out?

I am a 58 year old male with a severe case of intestinal pain from the time I eat food, which can't be alot, with sharp pains through my intestinal track off and on constant until I deficate, which is very painful. I have had test run of every sort. Diagnosed from maybe Crohns to IBS. They can't seem to figure it out exactly. I have had second opinions and my diagnose seems to be over their head as they put it. But I am exhausted trying to find out. I am loosing weight bad and have no appetite. I force myself to eat but it has to be small portions through the day. I do take different medications but I am told this is not the problem. When I know I have to use the bathroom, It is a severe lower stomach pain and as I deficate the pain radiates to my lower back as well. I have had a fistula removed when I was 30 yrs. old. It was attached to a polynidal cyst behind my lower back. I take muscle cramp medicine that helps some and also pain medication. But nothing seems to help when the pain is extreme. I think after a long period of severe pain, it does things to you, physically and mentally. This has been going on for years and don't know which way to go. Could you please let me know what you think. Thank You, Harry Yeager.

In 2007 I was diagnosed with a stomach bacteria called H Pylori.  My husband was diagnosed with C-Dif, which is another stomach bacteria but is caused usually by taking to many penicillin, so our doctor says.

You might want to return to your Gastro Doc and have him check your stools for a stomach bacteria.  There are several types, but at least if you did this and the test came back negative you have ruled out some more things.  Take Care

If your intertested, I posted my blog yesterday.   Starts with H Pylori and C Dif complications.

Do you have loose stools everytime you eat anything or not all the time.  I was told once I had IBS and it turned out to be Celiac Spru.  I have completely eliminated wheat and lactose from my diet and the symptoms that you have just described went away.
If you think it may be an option, go wheat free for about a week.  If you see you are feeling a bit better, call your doc and have them check for the gluten chemical.  They would do an endoscopy as well to verify it.
Good luck.
