I have no history of injury, I don't exercise regularly, I'm a bit underweight (I've actually haven't been eating too well due to this anxiety). And I don't do drugs.
It's interesting you mention masturbation, I masturbate regularly though and I thought maybe this is related. But nothing like this has never occurred before. Can you tell me what a pulled groin would feel like... I feel like I would know it if I did, but all these tingling nerves and dull aches seem like something else... does it sound like maybe a viral infection?
I've visited a general practitioner. They were not much of any help. They told me it may be muscle cramps, but also said it could be many other things, they just weren't sure. At the time of my visit I was feeling slightly better and I had told them it had gone away. The following days, probably due to worrying about it some more, it returned! Since I don't have insurance I just can't afford to go back to the clinic for a second opinion.
I don't know for certain if it is possible but I've got heart palpatations from stress and they feel very real. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Before you go with the anxiety diagnosis, you should have a clean bill of health from your general practitioner. After that, you and he/she can discuss whether the symptoms are indeed anxiety related. Anxiety has so many symptoms associated with it that that is why you need to rule out everything else.
Having said that, if you find that it is anxiety then you need to make an appointment with a psychologist to find the root cause of your anxiety. There is usually a trigger and it could be recent or something in the past. Regardless of whether you find that trigger or not, you need to learn ways to deal with the anxiety and resulting panic attacks. They can teach you cognitive behavioral therapy to help you with them.
Best of luck. And if you find out it is anxiety, there is a really good Anxiety Forum right here on MedHelp. A lot of people have Health Anxiety.
Without any history, it is very hard to guess what's going on with you. Do you exercise regularly? Is your weight normal? How is your diet? Are you taking illicit drugs, such as cocaine or amphetamines?
It doesn't sound anything like an STD. I doubt it has anything to do with masturbation. Whether it's a groin pull or a tight psoas muscle I can't tell. It might be something like your thyroid, I suppose.
