because sertraline is the generic for zoloft are the doses the same?

Yes, but there is allowable increased or decreased amounts in each tablet of the generic.

Yes Setraline is the generic form of the drug Zoloft.  The CONCENTRATION and the CHEMICAL FORMULA of the drugs are the same for any dose that your doctor perscribes.  Both forms work the same. The only difference is the Brand name Zoloft is produced by the company that originally held the patent for the drug. When the patent expires, others companies are allowed to produce the drug under thier own BRAND name, but the GENERIC name will always remain the same. This explains why drugs may have multiple names, but they are all the same.
