Jaw pain under ear

I've been experiencing jaw pain when I talk and it will often stiffen. But tonight I found that the part of my jaw beneath my ear doesn't feel as soft as it does on the other side and is giving off some pain.

What could this be?

It sounds like you my have swollen lymph nodes. Which could mean that your body is trying to fight an infection. Just keep a eye on it and and if you start to feel sick or the pain starts to get worse go see your pcp.
