Burning Up!

Hello-

I have been experiencing some odd heat issues over the past 4+ months. The right side of my face, back of head and neck, and front of chest is burning up even though the rest of my body is fine. The best way to describe the feeling is it feels like I have one of those heat patches on that reacts to air.

The heat first started on the right side of my face and has now started to move to other parts of my body. I consulted my physician and had some tests run (thyroid, etc.) only to be told that everything was fine. I even asked if maybe it could be related some the medications (doxycycline, clindamycin, 5-HTP, clobetasol, vitamin D) I am taking. The answer was no. Was told that it was probably just a fluke and it would eventually just go away.

I've reached my frustration limit. The heat isn't going away. I've tried keeping a fan pointed at my face while I am at work, but that doesn't help. I even switched the air to cool on my blow dryer. Am I doomed? Will I never find a solution?

Help! I'm afraid that at this rate my entire body will be on fire before the end of the year.

One more thing - you can have a toxicity going on that will cause this - such as Vitamin D maybe interacting with Clindamycin or doxycycline or something - ask your pharmacist! I had nerve twitches in my face due to a drug once. Thought it was neurological and it was.... because of the medicine!

I would call the pharmacy - they know much more than Drs about drug interactions!! The other thing it could be is neurological... especially if the hot area does not have a rash.

I would check out the meds again, just to be on the safe side, as meds do have side effects try to take them off one at a time see if it makes a differance, you are on quite a mix of meds.  do you get a rash with the 'heat'
