Endocrine

My soon to be 9 yr old daughter started developing pubic hair at age 7.  Nothing else at that time.   I took her to her pediatrician who ref me to Endo.   Blood tests showed elevated DHEA (95) norm 10-60, bone age x-ray showed 1 1/2 yrs older than age.  Now has axilla hair and acne.   Does the DHEA levels change or lower?   Should I take her back to Endo for further work-up and what should I ask??

Our son who is 7.5 yrs. old has started to develope pubic hair. His DHEA is 431 and I am told 40 to 80 is normal for his age. We have an Endo appointment next week. Any one have an idea what the possible treatment will be?

Hi Moriah~I would take her back to the endo, sounds like her hormones are out of whack. They should do a saliva test, this is more accurate then blood work, and also, a 24 urine test, this is good for DHEA levels and other things.

Good luck
