Both of these numbers are elevated substantially. I see one post is over three years old so I will adress yours mike. D dimer tests are non specific in diagnosing blood clots in the lungs, brain or limbs, and metastatic cancers. Levels are often elevated after surgery, major bleeds and traumas, during pregnancy (not you) and rheumatoid arthritis.
Are you having other symptoms such as shortness of breath, low oxygen saturation levels or chest pain? This would indicate a pulmonary embolism.
Redness, swelling and pain in the a limb may indicate the formation of a blood clot. DO NOT massage the area as you do not want to dislodge the clot.
You will need dopler studies to rule out a clot. Treatment for a blood clot is heparin injections. This effectively breaks down the clot. Bed rest is usually ordered during this time.
Keep us posted! Well wishes to you.
