Why am I nauseous and having diarrhea?

I am a 16 year old male. 2 nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night very nauseous. While I never threw up, throughout that day I felt awful, nauseous and having mild diarrhea. That night I felt much better and the next day I felt normal. Although that night I woke up in the middle of the night kind of nauseous and I went to the bathroom and had diarrhea. Is this some sort of sickness? Should I be worried? Or is this just the human body?

It sounds to me like you have a mild case of the flu or some other stomach "bug." It could even be attributed to something you ate. If you do not have a fever, which is considered 100.4 and above, I'd drink as much water as possible, avoiding Gatorade which contains sugar and is not good for diarrhea, gets as much rest as possible and eat very light meals like clear soups, plain crackers or toast. If you are not feeling 100% better after another 48 hours, I suggest you see your doctor or go to an urgent care clinic. If you have a bacterial infection, you will need to be put on antibiotics. I don't think this is anything serious, but after 4 days it's time for a professional to take a look. Hope you feel better soon.
