I'm so sick...

I woke up this morning burping what smells like eggs. I went to work only to leave an hour later with horrible sweats, dizziness and terrible diarrhea. For the last few hours I have back and forth to the bathroom, until this last time, just with diarrhea.  Now, I am vomiting very thick, rice-like vomit (think chinese take out mixed with stomach bile).  A bug perhaps? No one else around me is sick. Food poisoning? I ate the same as everyone else a Mothers Day picnic yesterday, and just I am ill.  Anyone have any ideas?

I'm so glad. I wasn't sure what type of food poisoning you had. If I were you I would smell all my food and drinks (I do that now) also if anything tastes bad don't it eat it. I am sure you learned your lesson. People think I am funny for smelling my food and also when I buy something like chicken I don't use it if it smells like rotten eggs (sulfur which Salmonella produce) after i wash it. Anyway, take it easy and rehydrate yourself.

I feel so much better this morning! I was able to keep some H2O down and a peice of dry toast! Yay! That was short lived, but terrible. Thanks for all of your help!

I hope you have been able to drink some gatoraide or water it sounds like it is slowing some but you can still get dehydrated from diarrhea. The body aches are probably low potassium. Try to get some fluids down. Gatoraide has some potassium or pedialyte whatever you can get down. If you are not better by tomorrow or you throw up all night go to the ER. I hope this is towards the end of it. Let me know how you are doing.
feel better,

I have had only the one single episode of vomiting, though I've been dry heaving all day. The diarrhea is still really bad and so are the discusting burps. Now I am getting pretty bad body pains including my legs and back, but that may be from the dry heaving.  The weird vomiting helped some of the pain in my abdomen to subside, thank goodness.

It is not a usual source for food poisoning. Perhaps something got in the tea? If it tasted that bad it may be what caused it. I don't know how it got contaminated but something may have gotten into it.  Did anyone else get sick that you know of? In any case I'm pretty sure you have food poisoning whether it was the tea or not. Do you still have the same symptoms? How are you feeling? If it isn't gone by tomorrow or you throw up all night and get dehydrated and can't drink go to the ER. If you get better tomorrow then you will be on your way to recovery. Some of these things like Salmonella won't go away on their own. Some will take longer but will go away on their own usually by 3 days. The key is are you able to drink some a little at a time and do you have bloody stools etc.

Now that you said that, I had a glass of iced tea that smelled and tasted terrible... Almost like sewage, on Saturday. I drank like a quarter of the glass until i realized it was not my taste buds, it was the tea.  Could I have gotten food poisoning from that?

I agree with mkh9; sounds like it's food poisoning. Try to stay hydrated, and if it gets to the point where you are only throwing up bile or stomach acid, go to the doctor. Hopefully this is short lived!

It sounds like food poisoning to me. It could be bacterial or viral (norovirus is common). The picnic is a big sign. Probably a bacterial pathogen. Spoiled mayonaise is a big culprit. If it doesn't resolve within a day you should see a doctor. They can do a stool culture. Try to keep hydrated at least a few sips of water at a time. If you start vomiting frequently I would to the ER.
