Kidney infection resolved but still suffering flu-like symptoms

Condition started with dizziness, stiff neck, achey muscles/joints similar to mild flu, slight sore throat, sensitivity to bright light, fatigue.  Thought it was a virus and treated accordingly.  Not gone after two weeks so visited the doctor.  They took blood and urine samples and diagnosed a kidney infection, despite the fact I had not had kidney pain - although some slight genital ache and need to urinate urgently.  Prescribed 10 day Ciprofloxacin antibiotics which I finished.  Mild ache in kidneys only started once I started taking the antibiotics.  Doctor took another urine sample after I'd finished the course and told me the infection was gone.  I am still suffering stiff neck, headache, sore throat, fatigue, general malaise 12 days after starting antibiotics.  Been struggling with this for one month total.  Doctor said its possibly a virus as well.  I had a kidney stone in my left kidney 20 years ago.  Today started experiencing slight twinges in my left kidney again.   I live in a remote area so a second opinion will require travel and overnight stay.  Should I seek a second opinion?  Many thanks for your time.

Those can all be symptoms of a rarely diagnosed condition that a friend of mine has called Nutcracker Syndrome (Left Renal Vein Compression). It occurs at the left kidney and she has severe compression of this vein and every symptom that you're having. It's a poorly understood and potentially debilitating condition that has taken doctors 20 years to diagnose her. She also has another similar condition that I have called May-Thurner Syndrome (Left Iliac Vein Compression). It's been causing me Chronic Fatigue, Anxiety, Depression and more recently genital aches and pain and frequent urination as well as leg pain. It's taken 25 years for me to get diagnosed with this condition only because I didn't have any blood clots or swollen legs. I still had severe compression of my Left Iliac Vein though. A good doctor to go see might be a Vascular Surgeon that is very knowledgeable about these 2 vein compression conditions, as both should be checked for.
