Poked Eye

I poked my eye at work today on a stiff, dry and sharp feeling piece of grass.  I wasn't able to open the eye at all the first 15 minutes. It took over an hour and a half to open it semi-comfortably. There is no blood at the "poke" point.  The whole eye is pink (the eye watered quite a bit).  It was painful enough to create a headache behind the eye. It's been 5 hours and the eye is still pink and feels scratched. I'm out of town and away from my normal doctor.  Should I try to find a doctor or just let it do its thing?

Agree with Mon1212.  I am not sure if you scratched your cornea, if you did, it NEEDS TO BE attended to STAT.

Hi,
Go see an eye doctor as soon as possible. You dont want to have problems later if you cornea is scratched and unattended, you need treatment soon. If it was a hard hit, you also want help asap, because of possible problems with detachment of the retina.
