Have you gone to a Gastro.? I have/had a similar similar situation that started in about 2006. I am 5'5" and weighted about 150-165 and it was a perfect weight for me as I was very fit. When I joined the Army I went down to 148 and that was a bit too skinny, and I was quite muscular for my frame and height. But what I'm getting at is that all of a sudden I gained over 70 lbs in less than 6 months! I'm not talking about 5lbs here and there, it would be 5 lbs in a DAY then maybe 10lbs the week and so on... After the years of frustration, having doctors tell me that I was depressed (an CLEARLY was NOT), I was sent to a gastro for other underlying issues but she was persistent on figuring out why I gained so much weight in such a short amount of time... well after many tests, she had me do a nuclear tests that measures how fast and effectively my stomach was digesting food. Come to find out, it would take my stomach over 4 hours to digest ONE cooked egg! So what does this have to do with you? Well my symptoms were, getting full very quickly, frequent nausea, indigestion, I would eat MAYBE one meal a day if that! What happens is that since my stomach was taking so long to digest food, I was never hungry, so my body would go into starvation mode. Then when i would finally eat, my body would grab every calorie and hold on to it storing it as fat b/c of being in starvation mode.So what's this called? Gastroparesis. If any of this sounds like you, please ask your doctor about it! I soon started on a medication called Domperidone and lost 18lbs in the first few weeks!

This could very well be hormonal related, it could also be releated to a thyroid condition. Have you gone to a physician about this?

There is a test you can do at home to see how your thyroid is working, it is called the Broda Barnes Basal test and it is very accurate. You need a basal thermometer, and you shake it down the night before so you are not moving in the morning when you take the temperature. You place the thermometer under your arm and lie still for 10 minutes, when you read it, it should read between 97.8 and 98.2

This reading taken by armpit is somewhat lower and somewhat more accurate than by mouth.  If you have a low-grade infection this may read higher than your "normal", therefore if it is in that range above, you should repeat the above procedure every other day for a week or so.  If a menstruating female, also do it on the 2nd and 3rd day of your period.

If lower than the range, you are probably hypothyroid and if higher, then you are probably either hyperthyroid or you may have an infection somewhere.

Are you taking any hormones; birth control pills?  Any other medications?  Sounds like water weight if you have gained 7 lbs in two weeks.  Have you consulted your PCP/Family Physician about this yet?
