Rash

Hi, I have a Rash on my stomach that wont go away its been there for about a year it's very itchy someone told me it was plaque psoriasis but I looked up pics on the internet it dosent really look like it. a pharm. told me to lay out or tan a little and put lots of lotion on it I did that and it help but as soon as I stop it comes right back! what could this be???

Well, keep using the creams that are effective.  I would exposure the area to sunlight whenever you can; not too much.  I cannot recommend a tanning bed.

If the lotion helps, it could be eczema...which is a broad term for a skin irritation, like psoriasis. My children have eczema and when lotion wont take it away and it becomes reddened, I have to use a hydrocortisone cream. They have many brands over-the-counter, like Cortaid, that might help. Just don't use them for an extended period of time. Once the redness goes away, use an uncented lotion, like Curel intensive therapy for extra dry skin, after every shower. If that's what it is, it will help. It could also be hives??  Have you been stressed??

no, I dont have health insurance and I just started my job I was out of a job for awhile and I just dont have the extra money out of my pocket at this time.

Sounds like Psoriasis especially if it responded to tanning.  Light Therapy is one of the treatments ordered for this.  

Being that it has been a year, have you had a physician assess the site at all?
