I feel like my left foot is slipping like on ice. I have never gone completely down but have slipped and needed to grab something to make sure I didn’t fall. When it first started (year ago Feb) I have that panicked slipping sensation at least 15 to 20 times a day and was walking like an idiot, baby stepping and watching every step walking with caution. It came on so suddenly I thought I just scared myself the first few times so badly I created a phobia so I went to a Hypnotist (1st time ever) but it was of no help and she thought it was physical. My PCP acted like he was humoring me, but did refer me to Neurologist who has put me through an expensive battery of test ; 2 MRI’s One brain and one lumbar – Showed few smallest vessel strokes- did not think could cause problem
Nerve test - (Small needles tracking from my toes to my back) said had significant peripheral
myopathy but had no reason and not sure if causing problem. I did have Polio when I was 7 and it was not unusual to have this myopathy. Physical Therapy – Went 8 weeks twice a week but no matter what I said they focused on strength and balance and had no idea about slipping correction.
Have a scheduled appointment with Neurosurgeon to read and analyze my MRI, to see if a
couple of possible bulging disc could be causing the problem. I’M DONE I’m not going to put
myself through anymore because every time I’m treated like I’m crazy and get no ANSWERS.
ie: I do take Statins, Blood pressure and cholesterol meds.
*** I’ve found at least 8 medical boards with 100s of threads over several years ALL with the EXACT same symptoms. I’ve searched for months and not found one single resolution that has helped ANY posters. *** PLEASE if anyone has found a lasting solution, PLEASE share***. These symptoms ARE a lot more common and widespread then any of the doctors I’ve seen or read seem to think, so it must be caused by a common condition that can be treated.
