Skin Problem

Hello.
I am in a confused state here and I hope you could please help me. I have this Itching around my anal area for sometime now. I haven't gone to the doctor yet since I am extremely embarrased about it. I know its stupid. I have this severe temptation to itch that area often. This is more when I have woken up from sleep. And due to constant itching the area has become quite sensitive and I believe I have this condition known as ""prurigo nodularis" (An eruption of hard nodules in the skin accompanied by intense itching). I am going to use the Bevason Cream for this. If you have any advice or help I would be extremely grateful.
Malik

I think I would go with the worms.  My daughter was a thumb sucker so she got them a lot in elementary school.  But super hard stools could cause some tearing which would itch too.  Or possible ringworm, but considering its worse in the morning I would check ur poo.

Itching around the anal area can be from inflamed hemaroids.  The can become inflamed if you are constipated or have the runs.
Keep your bottom clean after bowel movements and apply a cream for hemerioids like proctosedil or something similar that you can get from the pharmacist.  Wear cotton briefs or cotton boxer shorts.

Another reason for itching around the anal area is threadworms.  The very think thread linke worms come out usuall at night and lay their eggs.  This causes intense itching.  Sometimes you may visibly see a white thin worm in your stools, but not always.  You can get tablets or liquid medication from the pharmacist to get rid of them.  Other members in the family may have to be treated at the same time.

Always wash your hands after you have been to the toilet.

Always wash your hands before eating any food and wash fruit and veg before you eat it.

Anyone can get threadworms.  Door handles can be contaminated by someone who has scratched their bottom and not washed.  The eggs are invisible to the naked eye.
