Did anyone ever faced a similar type of seizure?

Dear readers,
I need some advice.
For a long time now (over 20 years), my mother, aged 54, is facing a problem for which no doctor has yet found a cause or a cure.
There is no apparent reason or pattern to what triggers this type of seizures.
The symptoms are as follows:
- pain in the gallbladder area (she undergone a colecistectomy procedure some time ago. She had this type of crises before and after the gallbladder removal prodedure);
- the pain moves towards the umbilical area then up to the sternum area where it increses;
- at this point she feels a strangulating sensation through her throath. She fears will suffocate;

The crisis stops only if she drinks plenty of water. Starting with a glass a while back up to 2 liters now.
The duration and severity of the crises vary over time from seconds up to 30 minutes now.
The sizures started wih a frequency of one or two per year. Now it's got to two or three times a day.

If any of you ever faced anything similar or ever heard of something like this, and has any ideea of what might be the cause or cure, please share your thoughts.
Thank you for your time. Any help is apreciated!
