Why do my ribs still hurt ?

A few years ago I was fooling around with my bf and he was pushing on me while I was kind of twisted.  He must have leaned on me wrong because I heard a snap. At first it knocked the wind out of me, but I didn't really notice it. When I got up I couldn't stand all the way because my ribs hurt too bad. I couldn't even take a deep breath without it hurting me to the point I wanted to cry. I wanted to go to the hospital but I didn't have insurance and everyone told me they don't do anything for hurt ribs anyways. I found out later that I should have at least wrapped them, but at the time I had no idea.  Well its 2-3 years later and I still get rib pains. What should I do?

It is possible that when you broke your rib... you might have torn some cartilage too.  That really hurts for a long time as it takes a very long time to heal.
Not much a doctor can do - x rays - no treatment except pain meds.    You might try getting some MSM and Hyaluronic acid from the health food store.  Only thing that can heal cartilage.

Don't horse around like that anymore.  If your rib broke just messing around - think what could happen next time!!  Take care of yourself.  - Also take some vitamins to build your bones and body.

Good health to you... wishing you the best
