alcohol withdrawal and acne

Are alcohol withdrawal and acne commonly related?

yes, They are . The stress that you or someone you know is going through, that they might not know of with not being able to drink will cause acne.

I don't believe they are typically related, however, alcoholism can severely throw your system out of alignment (as can withdrawal for a little while) - diet, sleep patterns, social activities - EVERYTHING is going through a change so, I'd try to consider what is causing the acne?  Hormonal changes, oily skin, change of season, new skin lotions/creams, etc... and work in reverse order.

Would also be curious in knowing if it's cystic acne (far below the surface - no whitehead, usually tender and painful) or regular acne that forms white-heads.  The cystic acne can be injected with steroids at a dermatologist's office to prevent long-term scaring.
