scars from ingrown hairs

So i posted a question about  a painful bump they i could bearly walk and it was red. I went to the doctor and she said it was an abcess created from an ingrown hair. after that it took two days for it to finally drain omg it was an amazing feeling to be able to walk again lol seriously because immediately after it drained it was pain relief =]
The only problem is it looks like it's going to leave a scar.=[[  I went to the doctor again two days later after it drained just to make sure everything was okay she said it looks really good and she put some ointment on it but since i knew the abcess came from an ingrown hair i made her pull out two more ingrown hair that i saw on my vagina so we can prevent this from happening! Anyway im better now but i just feel really sad because my vagina looks lik its gonna have three scars left over and its still red in the area. =[ Is there anyway i can minimize the scars and take away the nasty redness left behind. My skin where all three ingrown hairs look wrinkly kind of with marks =[ My boyfriend even saw it and he kind of made me feel bad like he never wanted to touch me again. I know women are more then there vagina lol but it really shattered my confidence sort of =/

potassium iodide has worked on my scar from my brain surgery. It takes time.
I did it 5-6 times a day. Be careful applying it so as not to get it into the Vagina! As for you boyfriend he should not have any sex for a month! for saying such a thing!!

Hi heather, I know excatly what your talking about they are called piri anal abcesses and iv had 5 of them. You were luckey to have catched them earlly and had them drained, My first one grew so big overnight while sleeping that in the morning had to ring an ambulance, where i was takin to hospital and put to sleep to have it removed. Within 1 year i had 5 alltogether and they all grew back in exacalty the same place and only 1 of them was able to have anitbiotics and it went away the rest all had to be surgically removed. They were so painful. Its been 1 year now since the last one and iv not had another, thankgod. After each one of mine was removed they would leave the wound open and id have to see a nurse everyday for 6 weeks to have it cleaned and packed so it vould heal from the inside out. So as you can imagine i have a scar too and its pretty big, The only thing i can recommend which can help visiably reduced scars is Bio Oil its been great on mine, obviously you can still see it but compared to what it was theres alot of improvement.  PLease dont feel embarresed or let it take away your confidence because its alot more common than you think exspecially in men, so id tell your partner to watch out because it could be next. I would check again with your doctor just to make sure its healing up ok with you saying its scabby and open, its always best to just check for infection. As when i had my mine removed i would see a nurse but then it may be a different prodceedure for surgical removel. But anyway yes defo try Bio Oil you can get it from boots, and i hope you dont get any more. All the best Becky

look glad you on the mend, these should just clear up and disappear, just give them a chance to heal and keep them clean, no oils or creams, and in future if you want carry on shaving do it the way your hair grows, downwards, then you should not have this problem again.
Good Luck
