Dark grape juice can also help. It's what my mother's doctor recommended.

The thing is, you doctor is being generous. If your doctor were the type to "worry about", you would have already been prescribed with statins. But he's saying, "Look, you can change this, you have to work with it."

And he's right. As I've said, right now, you can expect to have unhealthy readings. It's just the way things work. If you give it the honest try, you'll be okay. Change your diet, get 30 minutes of exercise in every day, you'll be good.

Everyone has their cross to bear. Some people get cancer. Some people have bad bones. Some people have mental diseases. Etc. Some people, like myself, can't eat whatever they want and have to maintain a diligence in order to keep themselves in a healthy middle.

All in all, I'd rather have to keep myself diligent about eating/exercise than have a terminal illness. I got lucky, that is to say.

CoQ10 and Guggul are natural alternative supplements that can lower cholesteral.  I don't blame you for not wanting to take statins.  They are very powerful and not necessarily good.  Red Yeast Rice is a natural statin.  You might want to go to Amazon to get the best price. - I'm back from seeing a "specialist" in Tucson.  He said I have arthritis in my jaw and need to see a TMJ specialist.  I think he just didn't know what my problem is.  So I'll need to see a different doctor. :(

Ok, so the blood work was good but my triglycerides were high, wants me to come back in 3 months to get re-checked and sat me up an appointment with a nutritionist.  How can I lower them?  I don't want to have to go on a statin drug!!  Any advice???

Sounds like your doctor gave you the okay to exercise!  Bravo.  By the way, I do have a heart condition and my doctor has TOLD ME TO EXERCISE.  it will not hurt you, it will strengthen your heart.  Don't be afraid that exercising will cause you harm - it won't.  Walked again - this time a little further. :D

I will remember to do the weekly weigh ins.  Since I'm off the weekends. I'm planning on making Saturday my starting day to hit the gym an start eating better from there on out!  My blood work being good gives me more reason tl want to make the outside look good :-)
