In such a situation there is always the possibility of a malignancy. This does not mean there is a malignancy, however unhealed wounds sometimes fall within this category. In such a case timely treatment will mean the difference between life and death.
Any emergency room will treat you in the United States without a requirement for payment up front. You will, of course, eventually get a bill. There is a big difference between "not being able to afford treatment" and "not wanting to be billed for treatment".
In every city there are clinics, and in general, if you have no money after visiting a social worker, the fee is usually ten dollars per visit.
A third alternative is to search the Internet for a Hill-Burton hospital in your vicinity, and contact them for evaluation and treatment. Hill-Burton Act facilities provide treatment without payment for those without financial means to pay.
You are beyond the point at which self-treatment is adviseable.
You should go get some triple antibiotic ointment, or bactriacin... Should be available at CVS, the problem with it could be due to a bacteria in it, or infection such as STAPH. You may call around and see if you can find a clinic around you that is INCOME BASED, to get help. Or go to the ER when it gets real bad looking again, due to pain, they will have to give you something. There definately is a problem if it hasn't healed for over a year.
Hi , I agree with the last post, but are you absolutely certain it was a from a razor cut? Some skin cancers like basal cell, bleed and go on for a year but then they will spread under the skin. They sometimes look like a wound because they can keep bleeding. If you know for certain that it is a razor cut then leave it alone and use the antibiotic topical. If it doesn't heal after the antibiotic, then you may have to get it checked, your life is more important than anything. I'm not saying you have skin cancer, I am saying to be careful though since it has been so long and that is unusual. In any case you want to be careful not to get an infection on your face either.

I cant believe you have let this go for so long. Stop scratching and picking at it! Use a triple antibiotic and a band-aid since you wont leave it alone. There are other alternatives to shaving for woman. You can try waxing or bleaching. both work well depending on the amount of hair growth.
Be sure to clean your face every morning but do not remove the scab.
