upper quadran

I have had pain off and on in the upper part of my abdomen. It's right under my breasts and under my rib cage. 10 years ago I was told I had gall stones nothing was ever done about it. I have had several ultra sounds done because of my lungs no one ever said anything. The pain is severe not on one specific side it feels like rolling and pressure outward. So severe at times I can't straighten up.

Definitely could be gall stones! If that's the case, be sure to watch your diet until you can get a CT with contrast. The fattier the foods, the more pain you will feel later. Also, keep good and hydrated with plenty of water.

Sounds like a job for a GI doc...  Could be stones, liver, pancreas or anything else in that region.  But a GI doc. will get to the bottom of it.  Ultra sounds of your lungs wont cut it.. They need a CT scan or MRI of your abdomen to get a good look.

Good luck and hope you get well.

Almost hard to believe they would tell you you had gallstones then do nothing about it.  Sure sounds like a possibility.  I had mine removed many years ago - wonderful results.  I didn't have any stones but did have crystals in the bile and later had to have surgery on the bile duct too for severe scarring.  If you have health insurance see a good gastroenterologist.
Surgery for this is a breeze now compared to long ago.  Just two or three puncture holes and recovery very quick.
