Unprotected Oral, Tested at 23 days and 38 days post-exposure

Hello Dr.s

I gave a bisexual man about one minute of unprotected oral sex on Dec 13.  There was no ejaculation.  He claims he tested negative for HIV in early December.  I have never had a fever or lymphadenopathy since the incident.  I have however had pinpoint size maroon dots coming and going in a small group at a time since about 9 days post-exposure and a sore throat from day 18 to day 35.  I am now at 5 weeks and 2 days post exposure.  I've had 2 HIV tests; one on day 23 (phlebotomy ELISA) and today 5 weeks and 2 days had a Rapid done and it was negative.  I should mention I was in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic when the dots started.  I live in Canada.  What do you think my chances of having contracted HIV infection are?

You don't have an HIV concern.

And my doctor is not knowledgeable about HIV, which hasn't helped.  When I asked her my "real world" risk considering everything, she just said, "I really don't know".

Does seroconversion rash appear and disappear in smaller dots over the course of 5 weeks?

I have seen my doctor.  She just thinks I'm crazy, bonkers.  Put me on an antidepressant, which yes I did need, and lorazepam to sleep for the anxiety.  She looked at the pinpoint spots on my body just 4 or 5 at that point, and said, "I have no idea what they are, probably just a reaction to the sun."  I have tried to show her the spots appearing in my mouth, she is totally unsupportive and disinterested.  I had a VDRL run from the day 23 post exposure blood work which came back non reactive.

I do respect your opinion, I respect the scientific evidence too, and I thank you for offering reassurance on this matter.  But how can you be 100% certain that there was no risk posed.  I am scared.  I just want to know I'm okay.  My doctor flat out told me yesterday that she won't be doing any more testing until the 3 month mark.  This is playing on my mind because I have had lesions appearing and disappearing first on my body for the first few weeks and now in my mouth.  That's more than just a coincidence.  Something is up.

You didn't have a risk either.

And I'm 31, previously healthy and no reason to believe I'd have a sub-par immune response.

Do you know how accurate a day 40 ELISA via phlebotomy is, considering I've been quite sick and had symptoms.  I believe it is a 3rd generation test.  How many percentage would test positive if infected at that point in that scenario.
