ARS rash question

I'm 4 weeks out of last risky encounter and have a bad ITCHY rash on my neck/chest. Do ARS-related rashes itch? I am finding contradicting information on this (answers with sources would thus be especially helpful). I went to the primary care dr. today but didn't mention my ARS concern. She said it looked like some kind of allergic reaction and not like a viral concern. I'm unclear as to whether this conclusion was based on observation of the skin or the fact that I don't have other viral symptoms such as fever. Does anyone know how easily diagnosable virus-caused rashes can be v. allergy ones...like, can they be easily confused?

Other than that I have no other distinct ARS symptoms. I'll get tested though.

Wow, I never thought of that. You're absolutely right. I apologize to everyone I offended.

Using the word "clean" to describe an hiv negative person presupposes that those that are infected are somehow "dirty".  It's OFFENSIVE.

We do not focus on symptoms in assessing your risk for hiv infection.  If you've been at risk, you need to test 13 weeks post-exposure for a conclusive result.

Use condoms for penetrative sex (vaginal and anal) and you will avoid hiv infection.

Ah,

I had unprotected vaginal sex with a woman who thought she was clean / had been tested (she may have been still been exposed after testing I think).

The rash doesn't seem to be raised, rather it is almost like a sunburn on my neck/chest (trunk, right?).

.....not that symptoms have any place in hiv risk assessment.... they don't. It doesn't matter who you are, who you were with, only what you DID.

And I second Lizzie, ARS rash does not ich.  It is not raised, and is situated mainly on the trunk.

What Teak is trying to say, is that you have detailed no specific activities that warrant an hiv risk assessment.  So...... do you have a problem (you want assessed)?

Thanks Lizzie, I'd really appreciate it, though, if someone could provide either confirmation or empiracle support of the fact that ARS rashes don't itch.
