About the window period

Good evening!
I am an Asian who is in Japan.
I've know that most people will be positive by HIV antibody testing within 1 month via your website, and I just would like to know if the window period will be longer because of I'm an Asian.
And at Japan, the window period always be though around 2 months, I've checked HIV-anti at 5 weeks, but they tell me it's too early so there's no meaning of this test.
And how about the way about the testing which they called IC.
Sorry for my poor English and I'm really worried about HIV infection.
Best Regards,
RYO

Sorry I dont understand well your exposure, IC test is a Rapid Test, they are as good as an Elisa for a negative result, a positive result would have to be confirmed by a Western Blot, or IFA, if your exposure was protected then you were never at risk, but even a sinlge unprotected anal penetration can trasmit hiv, Oral sex carries only a very small risk.

I hope it helps.

Good Luck

Dear Mr.ECN44120:
Thank you very much for your swift reply.
IC test can know the result within 10 mins.
I'm a gay and I did protected anal sex (offerred) but I think I counld use the condom resersed and just overlaped half.(Sorry I coudln't explain well as my poor English.)
But I just did within 2 mins, I also did oral sex.
What is my risk?

It doesnt matter if you are asian, black, white, latin, nordic, ect. the window period is the same for all, if in your country the health department says 2 months believe them and take the test at that time, in the US the window period is 3 months for a conclusive result, I dont know wich is the IC test you ask about, but even the 1990 tests were conclusive at 3 months, If you are worried what was your exposure probably it wasnt even a real risk.?
