Am I infected

Two weeks ago I had unprotected sex with my ex boyfriend. We used a condom but only realized it later that the condom slipped a Nd got lodged in my vagina. He did not ejaculate inside however. Now two weeks later I have a white slightly painful spot on my right tonsil and small bumps under my right armpit. I have asked him to go and get tested together but he keeps giving excuses. I have been micro managing my body eversince and I am worried that I may be going throught he  acute HIV stage. I had a routine medical test including HIV two weeks prior to the encounter and tested negative.

Wait until  28 days has elapsed so you can get a conclusive test.. It is not that far off, so try to relax as much as possible.

You don't need his test results if yours is negative, but if he had no other sex in the last month you should insist he get tested now and show you the results for immediate peace of mind - pay him for it if necessary. In all events however, it doesn't seem that you can safely trust him though, so you should test yourself at 28.

Studying symptoms are just creating useless baggage for your worried mind, since the only way to know if you have HIV is from a test, It is natural to try to find clues to your future, but you have to accept that is impossible and wait for 28.
You can get those "symptoms" from other diseases or viruses, plus in your frightened state you can imagine things are new that were always there before. I never pay attention to any "symptoms" people mentionon this board because of those factors.

In case I wan't clear, you need to test Seeing his test results from the lab will just be to relax you until it is your time.
Thank you very much for the response. You are right I cannot change procedure or hasten the time. I just need to calm down and take a deep breath.  I will try and do that. At 28 days is a fourth generation Elisa test accurate or should I take the Alere determine?
People post the reliability on this site all day, so you can find it by looking around. I am going to copy it n my journal next time I see it i so I can provide it next time I tell someone to test.
