most ppl dont lie about their status when asked.
you can test at 6-8 weeks post exposure for a very good indication of your status. follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.
Thanks for replying, i would hope he wouldn't lie about his status, there is nothing to gain by lying. so 6-8 weeks in if i get tested and its negative does that mean after 3 months there is a good chance i would be negative?
it is HIGHLY unlikely that a result at 6-8 weeks will change at the 3 month mark...BUT...dont let that fact keep you from getting that CONCLUSIVE result.
until you are in a monogamous relationship where both of you have tested...ALWAYS use condoms. sex lasts a few minutes...HIV LAST A LIFETIME ! ! !
I just got tested today because i was having extreme anxiety, its been about 5 1/2 weeks and i tested negative. is that a good chance i am actually negative?
You need to re-read what lizzie advised you as she is one of our most experienced answerers along with teak of course and she told you that 6 to 8 weeks is highly unlikely to change at 3 months, now thats the best advice your going to get.5 and a half weeks is good but not as good as 3 months. Its a waiting game.Hang in there.
i tested negative, however it was the orasure, and the lady told me to make sure it got wet in my mouth, is there any way i used too much spit and it was wrong?
OraSure does not use salvia to test.
so even if i got too much saliva on it, its still accurate and tested for antibodies?
Yes it would still be accurate.
