should i be concerned

I recently made a mistake and had sex twice with this guy from work without a condom, he did not cum inside me, however i am still worried i may have HIV only because he has had many partners. I have shown no symptoms, no fever, only diarrhea occasionally.  He has told me he got tested last summer and was clean, im going to go get ttested, but im curious as to what are the chances of me contracting hiv from precum or unprotected sex in general.

most ppl dont lie about their status when asked.

you can test at 6-8 weeks post exposure for a very good indication of your status.  follow up at 3 months for a conclusive result.

Thanks for replying, i would hope he wouldn't lie about his status, there is nothing to gain by lying. so 6-8 weeks in if i get tested and its negative does that mean after 3 months there is a good chance i would be negative?

it is HIGHLY unlikely that a result at 6-8 weeks will change at the 3 month mark...BUT...dont let that fact keep you from getting that CONCLUSIVE result.

until you are in a monogamous relationship where both of you have tested...ALWAYS use condoms.  sex lasts a few minutes...HIV LAST A LIFETIME ! ! !

You need to re-read what lizzie advised you as she is one of our most experienced answerers along with teak of course and she told you that 6 to 8 weeks is highly unlikely to change at 3 months, now thats the best advice your going to get.5 and a half weeks is good but not as good as 3 months. Its a waiting game.Hang in there.

OraSure does not use salvia to test.

so even if i got too much saliva on it, its still accurate and tested for antibodies?
