Depends on your country's testing guidance. Some experts say conclusive at 4 weeks, some say 6 weeks, they use their professional judgement to make this decision taking into account the risk. Legally no test is conclusive before 3 months.
What is the window period of alee determine rapid combo inrespective of exposure ? And lastly when will it be conclusive 4 ,6,8 and 12 weeks?
The PCR test is used generally for early detection and it is recommended that it is followed up with a duo test, which you have, both test were negative, but you never had a risk in the first place as you used condoms, therefore you can take your tests as conclusive. If you had high risk and had shown symptoms that a Doctor thought may be ARS then I would have recommended again at 3 months.
Pls how accurate is Alee determine rapid test taken at 6 weeks post exposure? Can it be conclusive regardless of exposure? Was my pcr taken at day 19 post exposure also covers me from all the exposures? Once again thank you all
As you had no risk I don't think you need to test again.
PJ2239 thanks for your quick reply the and the 3 rapid combo test I took was all Alee determine combo tests
First of all if you had protected sex with condoms you had no risk.
The Rapid test are good tests and are considered conclusive at 3 months.
I only know of one 4th Generation Antigen/Antibody POCT duo test, (Alere Determine™ HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab Combo, which takes 20 mins to get the results).
The lab versions of the 4th generation duo test are considered more accurate, this is where blood is taken and sent to the lab. At 28 days it is considered very accurate and by some HIV experts conclusive for no risk events such a yours.
