Very anxious and depressed with HIV worries. Please help

Hello.

I am a bi-sexual guy, 23 years old. Until more than 3 months ago I decided to observe abstinence. Since then i've had 3 encounters.

Around 3 months 15 days ago months ago - I had my first encounter. Where I received a ******** with no condom from another guy. I did not however give back a ********. But there was mutual masturbation and genital contact, and precum contact.

In my second contact around 7 weeks ago - I had anal sex with condoms on - there was no tear, or spill. I topped, and I did not bottom. I again received a ******** but with no condom.

My last encounter was 5 weeks ago - no anal, or oral. but there was plenty of genital contact. For most of the later part I used a condom but there might have been precum contact and such. Also, the guy fingered me once - I resisted, but he managed to get in a little deep.

After the last encounter I have started freaking out. I went for an oral rapid hiv test around 3 weeks back to atleast rule out transmission from my first encounter and to an extent the second. That came out negative.

I went because I had caught cold and sore throat from a friend but never took any medications for it and it not get well on its own till next week. During all this time I kept having or imagining throat pains. I started feeling really nervous. So I decided to test myself.

Now I am again getting extremely anxious again. I get up half way through the nights to check for lesions. I have not developed any lesions yet. But I have been having back pain since last two week - but that was also the week I started going to gym again. So I am not sure if back pain is due to sudden exertion on my back due to rowing exercise or it's HIV/ Herpes or some other STD.

I have not developed any sore/ blister on my skin. But last week I started getting a little dehydrated and the head of my penis got a little itchy and pearly red. Again no sores/ lesions/ blisters. I ignored this issue because I've had this condition before - even when I was virin as a skin condition - eczema or something since I have a very dry skin and eczema is hereditary in my family. But it still persists.

While my back pain has been getting better since I stopped exercising I still get back pains if I sit a lot. I have decided to get tested again for all STDs after waiting for 6 weeks since my last encounter. I have been extremely stressed all this time though. I am not sure if I have acquired HIV or I am just very stressed out and that is having a toll on my health. I am losing all sleep though. I get up half way through nights to check for lesions. My work colleagues have started noticing the change in my behavior and they've started asking if something is wrong. I am very depressed at this point - any medical advice would be of great help please. I have tried posting on different forums. No body ever replies.

I am not seeing any other symptoms yet, but they might/might not occur. Please any advice would be very helpful. I am almost crazy now thinking about it thousands of time myself. I am very worried that I might have acquired HIV or Herpes. I am not so worried if I test positive for other STDs. But I go numb to think if I have gotten HIV. Any medical advice on what are my chances based on my symptoms and exposure of having acquired HIV.

Should I go for an ELIsA test to eliminate all doubt for positive/negative ? What are the chances that my previous rapid oral test was false negative.

thanks a lot. Any words of advise will be helpful.

receiving a ** is low risk for other STDs- primarily gonorrhea and NGU, which you probably would have noticed.

You are probably best asking this question to Auntjessie on the STD forum, however unprotected oral sex is a risk for other STDs, I believe however most of these are treatable, except HSV (symptoms are treatable however the virus will always be there)

Thanks again Teak. Your confidence about my situation makes me feel better. I hope you are right.

Would you know how much risk I have of acquiring other STDs as well.

Thank You.

To repete you did not have a risk of contracting HIV in any of the situations you've provided and you don't need any HIV testing. ELISA tests are Antibody tests and are very reliable taken at the correct time when someone has had a "RISK'. PCR-DNA  test is not an approved diagnostic test.

Hi Teak.

Thanks for your comment. You are the first person to reply me back on any forum - thanks a lot.

I am worried because the thought that is killing me most is genital contact with possible exposure to mucous/permeable membrane on penis head to positive precum. I am not sure how likely it is and if it is how probable it is to acquire HIV via this means. I know tops get HIV too after all.

Also, oral while safer is a possible mode of transmission. I did not know at the time I did it, but I have been reading online lately and looks like there is a positive chance of acquiring HIV this way.

I have not been feeling well ever since I started to think about it. So I am not sure if I am really not well or I am just thinking myself into it. Only way is to get tested. I am planning to call up a local CDC helpline after 6 weeks are over for overall testing. But even if turns out all good, there is another 6 more weeks to go and I am sure I would have been driven crazy before I can get my 3 months test. That's why I was thinking of getting an ELIA test - apparently it does not require anti-bodies' presence and it directly detects the presence of HIV DNA. But I am not sure how reliable ELISA test is.

Thanks again.
