In need of an opinion or two...

I am a male who around around a year ago had an HIV exposure which was essentially unprotected vaginal sex with a girl of unknown background.

I did not have any primary symptoms of HIV whatsoever in the ensuing months following the exposure, and am clean of all other std's.

My symptoms are:

Back in October of last year, I noticed a couple of small brownish/copper coloured splotches on the inside of my left wrist which on further investigation looked like Schamberg's disease.  They still come and go, and I have had them on my other arm and thighs/lower legs.

In March of this year I noticed a swollen parotid gland on my left side where the jaw meets the neck, and since then I've had mild swelling on and off in both sides of the face and also the submandibular glands.  The swelling goes up and down, is better at nights and during the morning and sometimes is more prevalent in just one side. No other glands are swollen anywhere else.

In April I noticed dull reddish/brown flat unstructured lesion on my right cheek, look like broken ribbons of cloud on closer inspection, and also a patch of discoloured skin on my forehead.  In addition, I have notived an increase of pinpoint dots on my shoulders and down the back of my arms.

Other than that, no other symptoms at all.  No night sweats, fever, malaise or weight loss and no oral symptoms.

Additional points to note:

I do suffer badly from varicose veins in one of my legs, a condition that has gotten worse over the years and it could well be that the Schamberg type lesions are related to venous insufficiency.  This may also account for some of the other skin conditions, and I may have had these on my legs for years and just not noticed it.  Although these lesions are more commonly found in the lower legs, this is not exclusively so because I've found pics of Schamberg suffers with lesions on the wrists?

I seem to suffer from very dry skin the older I've gotten, it's always dry and tight whenever I get out of a shower, and I'm always have to moisterize the skin several times a day.  This may also account for the patches of skin?

Although my teeth are very healthy, I have two fillings in my rear molars that have crumbled and needed to be re-done.  I occasionally get some flashing pains of toothache, and haven't been to the dentist for over 6 years now (shameful).  Perhaps this could have some bearing on the swelling in the glands?

Am I just a bit unlucky having other things crop up not long after my unprotected encounter, or is there some cause for genuine concern?

Just thought you might like to know that I got my test results back today for HIV-1/HIV-2 and it's negative.

I never want to have to go through that ever again!  Thanks guys for your feedback and support, I'll ask a few questions about my symptoms to other sections.

HIV is not based on symptoms and the symptoms you claim are not ARS by coming on so late. Go test.

hiv couldn't be judged by symptome. You may need a test to know the result! Wish you good luck!
