HIV duo question/Joint commission international(JCI)

I had a possible exposure 5 weeks and 1 days before. After 4 week and 1 day after the exposure I got heavy night fever, night sweats ,body aches and headaches for at least  1 week and 3 days ..still symptoms persists. Now I have done an HIV duo for HIV1/2(5 week and 1 day) from a lab which is accredited by Joint commission international(JCI).The test results came back as negative.

Are Joint commission international accretion labs reliable for HIV testing.I have heard that this institution has some problems and has given accreditation to a hospital which gave negative results for POZ patients.JCI is also a controversial organization.

The DUO is an antibody and antigen test. Elisa is an antibody test.

If I am not wrong then HIV DUO is also known as Fourth Generation ELISA.Is
Fourth Generation ELISA something different?

You had a Duo test not an Elisa test and Hiv testing in India is as good as any other country.Your test was reliable.Follow up at 12 weeks.

First of all I am from Mumbai India. The test was HIV 1/2 p24 antigen and antibody(Fourth generation ELISA)...I am worried about the lab's accreditation by Joint Commission International(JCI)---which is a standards body.

If that test was approved by the FDA or CDC then your good to go and that is an excellent result which must be followed up in 12 weeks for a conclusive result. All the best.
