FROM THE HIV EXPERTS HERE AT MEDHELP:
"As you know from other posts about oral sex, our stance is that giving or receiving oral sex is not a risk for HIV. Some others suggest that there is an appreciable risk of HIV from oral sex however, there are no convincing scientific reports which support these statements. The presence of a burn in your mouth, or a sore, or ingestion of blood does not change this. Still no risk an no reason for testing." DR HOOK
"As far as HIV is concerned, there is no known risk of getting HIV from performing oral sex on an infected partner, even if that person's genital secretions get into your eyes or if you swallow" DR HOOK
There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANDSFIELD
"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANDSFIELD
"I am sure you can find lots of people who belive that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK
in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
The observation on thousand and thousand of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort). DR. HOOK
"With regard to the question you ask, I will repeat, as I’ve said more times than I can think- there are NO credible cases in which persons have acquired HIV through performance of oral sex- none!!. The chance that you will be the first is ridiculously low. You are more likely to be hit by lightening while reading my reply to you. DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread by masturbation, through oral sex, through kissing or other casual contact." DR HOOK
"There is no credible evidence that HIV is spread through oral sex, with or without the presence of cuts or blood in the persons mouth."- DR HOOK
"Oral sex. there is no evidence that HIV is spread through giving or receiving oral sex"- DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread through oral sex." DR HOOK
"HIV is not spread through giving or receiving oral sex" DR HOOK
You did not have an exposure and we are not responsible for the incorrect information you find on other websites.
I read your big HIV-related post and it's very convincing-great work!
But what can you say about the post in the link I gave and my throat infection? Also, have you worked in that field(HIV research and so on)? I mean some sites state that transmission has a 0,005% risk and it's pretty high actually.. Thanks in advance
You never had a risk, and if anything, alcohol inhibits HIV. The only way alcohol would increase an HIV risk is that when intoxicated, people do dumb things.
You didn't have a risk and don't need testing.
I clearly wrote...HPV POST IN THE HPV FORUM!!!!
It's nonsense because it's in an obsecure publication and no Dr on this site has ever said anything like that before.
10 yr study of 101 couples (1 HIV+ the other HIV-) over 19,000 cases of unprotected oral sex and the HIV- partner never got HIV.
Why do you think it's nonsense?
What about the study can you tell me more please? Are you in some way associated with medicine?
Can we compare oral to vaginal/anal risk like we can compare weed to alcohol overdose related death? Like weed there are no documented cases, but some died let's say from a stroke, but from alcohol overdose deaths ocur on regular basis? I'm not propaganding drug use in any way!
And what about the HPV??
HPV post in the HPV forum.
Wow, I don't know how you found that but wow. That is out of left field. I have never heard of such nonsense in my life.
Documented cases very different then verified cases. No verified cases through studies. Documented means someone says they had oral sex and that is how they got HIV. Verified is a 10 year study done in Spain and no HIV infections.
And no I am not a Dr, they don't post here. You have to pay to post in the Expert forum.
I did! : http://doctor.ndtv.com/storypage/ndtv/id/261/type/news/Alcohol_boosts_HIV_risk_from_oral_sex.html
Why are you so sure about that when there are documented cases?? And also are you a doctor(just to be sure)? What about the HPV?
You did not have risk for HIV form oral sex. Whatever you read about increased risk is just wrong, not even sure I believe you read it.
HIV is transmitted by:
Unprotected vaginal/anal sex
IV drug use
Mother to unborn/nursing child
Also I had a really severe sore throat in 3,5 months after first contact with her, I even used antibiotics, which I haven't used for like 7-10 years! But I assume it's because of the gym and air conditioning there and the cold weather outside..I started to attend gym in April and in 20's of April I got sick, also had fussy eyes for some time( 3-7 days) when waking up, but then it went away, aside of that didn't experience anything bad
