Dear Teak;
I had latex condom protected sex with 5 CSW in Tijuana. I asked several of them(not all)to show me their health cards and they did without problem. The health department in Tijuana issues health cards if they don't have infections including HIV at the time of examination. They told me they do this every month or so. In theory they can't work without the health card. Not sure if this is strictly enforce in the clubs. All the sex was protected and the condom did not break. In fact several times I did the water test on the condoms afterward and it did not leak. Received 10 seconds of unprotected oral sex a couple of times with two girls as well. One time I fingered one of the girl in the butt and then I realized I had a small paper cut on my finger but there was no blood or pain. I guess the cut did not go through. Twenty three days after one encounter my left armpit became painful but not too painful. Then I poked around the right armpit then it became slight painful as well. It went away in about 4 days. I checked for fever every day but I did not have fever. Can I have ARS with armpit pain as the only symptom? Oh two weeks later I noticed 3 painful itchy red bits on my right legs, they look like flea bits. It went away in 4 to 5 days. I plan to get tested this week but I am freaking out :o(.

Some fingering but one time I had a small cut on one of my finger. No bleeding. I was diagnosed with anal abscess and had a drained in October. I also had similar problem a few months before but I did not go to the doctor the first time it happened. Currently I am having the same problem again but not as severe. I got tested for hiv in JAN of this year and did not have ANY sex until EARLY august of this year. Since the sex was protected from August to Oct 14, is it safe to say that the anal abscess was not due to hiv? Can I have gotten hiv with protected sex from August to October 14. I AM REALLY WORRY!!!

Her test would have to be neg at 3 months and you would have to know for sure that she was not with someone at all in that time frame. The only way to know YOUR status is to get tested. DO NOT rely on someone eles test result.
If the csw test 7 weeks after the condom break and its negative, do I still need to get tested for hiv? She went in today to get tested and she will get the result on the 15 of December. She got tested once already about week after the condom break and was negative. I went today to get tested for Gono and Chlam and syphilis and will get the result next Monday. I plan to get tested for hiv next year but I just don't want to keep worrying about it. Its driving me insane.

One more question. Do I need to worry about chlamydia and Gonorrhea if she tested negative one week after we had sex when condom broke. I plan to go in this Friday and get tested for the bacteria stuff and then for HIV in about three months.
of course you still need to test. how do you know FOR SURE that the sex worker had not be exposed two weeks earlier than her test and still in the window period for testing?
one "minute" of unprotected sex is unlikely to result in infection...BUT it can happen.

24 days ago I had sex with csw and the condom broke. About 1 minute of unprotected sex. I freaked out. The sex worker got tested last week and she is HIV negative and negative for all the bacterial infections. Do I still need to be concern?

colds, runny nose, itchy eyes and a hoarseness in your voice-are all quite normal.
if someone has swollen lymph nodes due to ars...they are not localized to one area of the body.

How long do ARS last? Does it normally last less than a week with only armpit pain? Despite all your answers I still worry because I been getting colds recently: runny nose, my voice sounds funny, itchy eyes but no fever. I checked for fevers 10 times a day everyday for 2 1/2 months. Perhaps I am feeling guilty because I did something so stupid. Please take care of yourself Teak and Lizzie.

Does it matter if I fingered all the csw rigorously? Man, each time I get a cough or a ache in my body I just can't help but to think I got hiv from one of these girls. Getting tested this Friday but so nervous I am getting nightmares. I am going to see if I can get the girls to show me their health cards again. Thank you all for your reassurances.

The first time I went to CSW in Tijuana I was drinking quite a bit of alcohol. But I know that I used a condom and I am sure it did not break. If it broke I would have noticed and freaked out then. My main concern is the pain in the armpit because as far I can remember I never experience pain in my armpit. I had pain in the neck area before because of toothaches. I have never been with CSW in the past so I was thinking maybe I got something from these girls despite with condom use. Have anyone with my exposure risk contracted HIV?
