Yes it was done at a lab, they took blood on my arm (not finger prick). And yes oral is what i did. And my partner said he is clean and is very sure of that - but if course i didnt believe him since i have anxiety issues.
If this was a lab or rapid blood test the chances of it turning positive is near zero. If oral was your only risk some would say testing isn't warranted.
So i had an HIV 1/2 test done at 8 weeks pist exposure. Its non reactive. Its very encouraging and helped me lessen my anxiety. I know i still have to wait 4 more weeks to get a conclusive result. But what are the odds that the result will change?? Iv never had any oral or sexual intercourse after that.
1. Type of virus, hiv2 is more common in the African region.
2. Combo~ duo same thing. Looks for a p24 antigen and antibodies.
3. 4 weeks post risk.
4. Most say no risk either way, some experts call it very low risk. The risk is considered higher (though still no to low risk) for the partner sucking. Dental health and unknown viral load helps in not getting a full consensus. Plus legal conservatism.
Some say testing is not warranted for oral.
So this depends on who you ask.
