Hello, jeanpaul27.

You're safe. A 16-week western blot test is more than enough to determine your status.

It's not necessary. However, to be 100% sure, please feel free to do a final test on the 24th week post-exposure.

at my place docotors say that if it is negative after 6 months then only its confirm. So all the tests i did are not valid or useful in determiing my status??u also say test at 24 weeks.

There is no reason to test again at 6 months, 3 months is conclusive and plenty enough time to detect antibody if indeed you were positive. You do not have HIV

You have over tested. No need to test...you are 100% sure with your tests.

Different countries have different window periods for HIV. For example, some 6 weeks, most 12, while minority 24.

In my country, the window period for HIV is 24 weeks post-exposure, therefore I go by that.

Let me put it in a simpler way.

6 weeks (1.5 months) - Very accurate
12 weeks (3 months) - Extremely accurate
24 weeks (6 months) - Optional, but feel free to do a final confirmation if you're still worried.

I hope that helps.

All generation tests that are being used are conclusive at 3months. The Dr's on this site even think that is too high.
