Hi thanks for taking time to answer my question... He said that he is Undetectable for years now he also showed me his meds Truvada and Nevirapine... And I asked if he had Stds he said none because if he does have it. It would be detrimental to his health... He is a healthy person he goes to the gym regularly and eats healthy foods

Saliva has a neutralizing effect on hiv making the mouth not a favorable infection point.
When someone is first infected with hiv the virus takes off and doubles continually and viral loads become very high making them more infectious to others.
Then the body gets some control and the levels drop. Even to the point where many don't need meds right away because the viral load drops enough where the side effects of meds are not worth it. This period can last for many years.
I say that because he may have a low viral load making him less infectious if this was even a serious risk.

I believe you're fine because of these 2 4th gen tests.
25 days - negative
34 days - negative

Because he is known pos,I think you really should take any rapid at 12 wks  "just to be sure" and give you complete peace of mind and be done with this.
I would expect a negative based on your last 2 tests.

Hope this helps you relax some.

You had no risk from the scenario that you described. HIV is a fragile virus that requires very specific conditions to replicate. Sexual transmission of HIV is only possible with unprotected anal or vaginal sex. Your situation did not fulfill those requirements and therefore you had no risk and therefore a test is not required.

Being you sound so stressed especially dealing with this alone, all I want to say is trust what alderick84 and chima7 told you.
You asked for the truth and they told you.
No need to dwell on this. Get your life back.
Hi I had a 7 weeks and 4 days post exposure test 4th gen combo rapid fingerprick again. does this add much?
alderick84 posted a link from the Drs reply.

Here is a short copy/paste.
""4th generation", "duo", or "combi" test), the window period is only 4 weeks.  By that time, all infected people will have a positive result on one or both components of the two tests."

Results trump symptoms.
Being the fellow is HIV+, it's understandable the stress it can cause.
Test a final time at 12 wks if you want. Expect a negative result.

Hello, doctors and epidemiologists around the world overwhelmingly agree that HIV is only transmitted by unprotected vaginal or anal penetrative sex, sharing needles or mother to child. Oral sex and masturbation are not considered risky activities, because there are no reports of people getting HIV by doing them.

You didn't even need to get tested for HIV in the first place, however unprotected oral sex might carry a small risk for other STDs, you could ask in the STD Forum if you wish.

4th gen will give you an excellent indicator about your status around 4 - 6 weeks after exposure. A result given in those times is extremely unlike to change, but only a doctor, based on your risk level and his experience could advice you to skip the confirmatory test after 12 weeks post exposure. But your risk was non existent.

If I were you, I'd believe the results and keep moving.

Hope this helps.

If you want to read more about the 12 weeks confirmatory test. I'd strongly recommend you to read the link I'll left here.

Before you ask, kissing isn't a risk either, even if you or your partner had bleeding gums or small cuts or abrasions in your lips.

Small cuts in you skin or your hands don't pose any risk either.

Hope this helps.

Can you call a hotline in New Zealand or even one in the U.S and see if they have any information about the tests used in New Zealand and which ones you can use?

I am not an expert but after speaking with someone from the hiv hotline (you can google and call them)- they said that a 4th generation duo test at 28 days is conclusive. I am sorry you are struggling. I am terrified to do these tests as I fear getting infected through them. Is this person a friend, partner?
