Resting easy?

Hello everyone.

I had a drunken experience 4 weeks ago and had unprotected vaginal and oral sex with a woman at a party. She is a surburban mother, so I am assuming she is of low risk of being HIV infected.  I tested negative after a 4 week rapid test.  I have not had any ARS symptoms. Should I feel confident I am HIV negative?

I also tested for other STI's and am waiting for the results.

Would anyone care to estimate my risk?

Thanks for your comment.  I understand statistics do not have any bearing on my actual status, but they might alleviate any irrational stress I might have from incorrectly believing my exposure was higher risk than it actually was.   I will get tested for the definitive result 3 months post exposure.  Thanks again for your comment and your time.

Have a wonderful day. :)

No, statistics can't tell you what your status is.

Thanks for your response.  I understand a 3 month test is needed.  I have read some doctors here explain risk using some statistics, and I was wondering if anyone could estimate my risk.  A low number would help alleviate my stress while waiting for the conclusive result.  I always used protection in the past, and have decided to stop drinking due to the nature of this bad decision.

Have a wonderful day. :)

any negative test result is a good sign...but you must follow up at 3 months post exposure for a conclusive result.
