I am a 23yr old hetero male. On December 10th, I had sex for the first time in my life...it was protected vaginal intercourse with a commercial sex worker near Guangzhou China.
Since then:
December 18th-24rd: headache, muscle ache, fatigue, diaherra, 3-4 weird red marks on my chest (diagnosed with food poisoning at hospital, antibiotics stopped the diaherra)
Jan 4th-9th: headache, muscle ache, fatigue, diaherra,(again diagnosed with food poisoning at hospital, antibiotics stopped the diaherra)
Jan 11th-Present: multiple symptoms such as pale, white tongue, fatigue, high anxiety, joint pain, rashes that appear for 10mins-2-3 hrs and then go away, acne, dry hands+feet, etc.
HIV Testing so far:
Dec 26th: HIV Test at a top Chinese hospital. Not sure what test, but used my blood sample. Negative
Jan 21st:6-week 3rd generation ELISA test back in Canada. Negative.
Mar 3th: 88-day 3rd generation ELISA test. Negative
Also tested for influenza, Hep A+B+C, and all STDs and everything was negative.
Before this whole series of health problems, I didn't know much about HIV at all. Now that I have learned more about it these past months on the internet, I know that my exposure was low-risk, and the test results so far have indicated that I don't have HIV. I've spoken to 4-5 different doctors about my situation, and most of them all laugh when I tell them I think i have HIV. An AIDS hotline I've spoken to says I didn't even need to go for testing in the first place.
However, the reason I am still a bit concerned is:
1) partner was a commercial sex worker, and I did not know her HIV-status.Also I heard HIV rates in Guangzhou is high.
2) many of the symptoms I've had in the past 3 months have are similar to ARS symptoms, and the timing matches that of an HIV infection.
3) after all medical tests that I've had, my family doctor still doesn't know what is wrong with me. they say it MIGHT be after-effects from all the antibiotics that I took, but they're NOT SURE
4) window period. my last test was at 88 days. I don't know if that is considered 11.5 weeks, or 12.5 weeks. Is my HIV test at 88days post-exposure conclusive?
DO I NEED TO CONTINUE TESTING AT 6 MONTHS?
