Valid Concern?

Hi, Doctor.

Thank-you for your excellent work on this forum.

I am historically very anxious about my health, particularly taking tests.  Rather than relieve anxiety, they tend to make me worse.  That said, if they're necessary, I'll take them.

My question then is do I require an HIV test.  In the three years since my last test, I've had no unprotected vaginal or anal sex, but I have had unprotected oral sex (I'm a 36 year old heterosexual male) with four women, one of whom was a sex worker in a massage parlour.  I know the risks of oral are very low, but with four exposures do you think a test is necessary?  I really don't want to get in a cycle of taking tests that aren't necessary.  I've done this in the past.  The tests, for whatever reason, don't reasure me.

I don't recall any ARS symptoms at all, but I recently had angular cheilitis, which seemed to clear up quickly with an anti-fungal cream.  My doctor told me this is a common condition.  I also have occaisonally a white coating on my tongue, but I've been to the dentist several times in the last year, and I assume if there was anything really unusual there they would have spotted it.  I'm a smoker, so this may contribute to the coating on my tongue.

My health otherwise is quite good.  No shortage of energy and I seldom get colds or the flu.

Thank-you for your time, doctor.

Thank you, Teak.  I didn't want to wast anyone's time.  I was just somewhat anxious because of the angular cheilitis and my tongue.

Be well.

You were never at risk from receiving a blow job and you do not need any testing.

Thank you, Teak.  I realize now that I posted in the wrong forum.

If you have a moment, what is your opinion of my situation?

Thanks.
