Worried Father

I'm worried I have been put at risk for HIV.
I recently competed in a BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) competition where I suffered a small injury which bled, during the match my opponent also suffered an injury aswell with bleeding and I'm pretty sure due to the nature of the martial arts that our wounds touched.
My concern has stemmed since I remember the competition enlist form did not ask for recent blood work.
SO I tested at 3 days after the comp and 5 and 1/2 weeks (5th November) with the HIV - NON COMMERCIAL (HIR-0) HIV 1 and HIV 2 ab/ag test which both came back negative. Is the test I received the 4th Generation DUO/Combo test?

I'm reading conflicting information everywhere about the validity of the tests and window period etc..... is the Duo test (I'm assuming I had) conclusive at 28 days + (99%) and a confirmatory test at 12 weeks is just precautionary or is the test at 28 days onwards just an assuring indicator and the 12 week test is still needed? Is it very unlikely to change at 12 weeks if that's the case as I tested at 5+ weeks negative?

Is there a rare case were I was infact infected despite the 5 weeks negative test?

Thank you

You never had an exposure and ignore the incorrect information you received from ccase.

You are really over reacting. Trust me if the test is at 5 week it's more than enough if duo test. If not also if u ask the same an to dr HHH, he will say I have never seen anyone in my 30 years of career anyone getting infected by sports. It's anyway std, s doesn't stand for sports for sure.

Still not convince, pls go dancing to clink and prick the needle again. Though not required.

Hello,

Cheers for the reply.

So I shouldn't be worried and take
My results as conclusive?

Once again thanks
