In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results
Hello teak , I had my 40 days test done, the result is negative , they told me the fast test is the 4th generation , test both ag and ab , 12 weeks test not necessary , is that good news? Any advice , thanks for your help, and happy Easter .
New Zealand aids foundation staff told me.
You were never told in New Zealand that you didn't need further testing. 12 weeks post exposure is when you can obtain your conclusive test result.
Sorry my bad , as you mean I don't have hiv infection this time ? I will never do any stupid things anymore
12 weeks post exposure is when you can obtain your conclusive test result.
Thanks for your help , happy Easter
