armpit pain

Hi, i had unprotected sex with a friend a while back, and since then i have had persistant swollen nodes (i think) in my armpits. If i feel around my armpits they are quite painfull / achey and i can feel a rather large lump in both. Also the upper part of my back is very achey, Does this sound like possible HIV symptoms? I have asked my friend who states she is clean but i dont know what to think.

No i have not, i am going to go get tested tomorrow at my local GUM clinic. So any pain from nodes are not related to HIV at all right Teak?

Have you tested 3 months post exposure?? You can't diagnose HIV from symptoms.

This DOES NOT mean you are HIV free - You will need to test at 3 months to get your result, Test @ 3 months before you start trying to make a baby. Symptoms tell you nothing at all about your status.

Oh thats great thanks Teak, you have made me very relieved. My partner is hoping to have a second baby soon, i have been putting it off incase these symptoms are to do with Hiv. I will procceed to try and be a daddy again then.

Thanks so much Sir.

No your symptoms are not HIV symptoms. Keep your fingers off your lymph nodes. You can test 3 months post exposure to obtain a conclusive test result.
