Simple questions to the experts?

Hi folks. Can someone with a knowledge of HIV please answer these questions that I have. I apologise if any appear to be silly.

1. Is a HIV duo test the same as a HIV combi test?

2. I recently had took an eight month combi test that was negative. It was the ADVIA Combi P24 Antigen test. Could that one be a 4th generation test? I was told that it was a "new test".

3. Would that test have tested for all the different strain/subtypes that are known to exist?

4. Despite the test being negative, the biologist would not assure me that it was 100% conclusive, perhaps because of my symptoms. Why would she not give me that assurance? I explained to her that I still have night sweats, sore glands, mouth sores and a sore throat 9.5 months post exposure.

Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

Thanks for posting the very usefull and reassuring link. I apologise to anyone who I annoyed with my post. It's not my intention to over do it and I was merely looking for one last piece of reassurance and knowledge expansion of HIV.

I admit that I find it very difficult to "move along" as I am still experiencing symptoms as mentioned above. I will try harder. Thanks.
