Should I be concerned

Hello, I posted on another forum but they said it was the wrong one and I should post in this forum. Please read below and some feedback please:

Here is the question that i need to ask and am wondering if I am at risk. Around 26 Jun 09, I was coming back from a night club in Spain and me and some friends ran into some prostitutes. After some talking, I decided to bring her up and from that point, I engaged into some protected sex. Afterwards, I went to the bathroom and wiped down but left the condom on because was a little bit scared that I might catch something. I fell asleep with the condom on and, yeah, she fell asleep next beside me. After I woke up, I went to the bathroom and got in the shower to wash up and that is when I took the condom off, during the wash up. She came into the bathroom and washed up and asked if I wanted to have sex again and I said, ok. (Very stupid). She put on another condom on me and we had sex again and afterwards, she cleaned herself and I walked her to the elevator and watched her leave. I came back and then took another shower and cleaned myself up. Now that has been about 3 weeks and I have noticed some discomfort behind my ears and lower jaw and it’s starting to give me headaches and some slight throat discomfort. What I'm worried about is might this be the start of HIV? I'm really freaking out a little because I am reading the symptoms and there are posts saying that the condom use is not 100% effective but that it is hard to get HIV from heterosexual contact from female to male. Tell me what you think about this and should I be worried about exposure? I know that having sex with prostitutes is not the best choice in the world but during our sex, she was supplying the condoms and placing them on herself and she would't let me touch here in places with my mouth or to her face at all. That did look to me like she was trying to be safe and was feeling assured that she was careful.

1. Should I get checked?

2. Was it any danger leaving on the condom after sex?

2. Do these symptoms sound like HIV?

3. When I was doing protected sex is it really safe because I feel like I have some symptoms and it's freaking me out.

Vance2335,
I course it's not the first time of having sex but it just feels wierd to have all these symptoms and I know I was being safe. I guess the anxiety is getting to me but that is normal, right?

Okay, here is my update as of today. I feel like I have a minor rash on my face and itchy all over, my lymph nodes behind my ears are still sore but not swollen and I have minor pain in my joints to my right shoulder or clavicle. I do feel minor headaches sometimes and my back of my neck is sometimes sore. Is this all in my head or is it leading to something not good. A little help here please...

I just want to say again that thanks for everyones support in my case but I just hope the experts know what they are talking about here. The reason is that after 2-3 weeks of my incident, I have had the supposed ARS symptoms and then they went away after almost 2 weeks. I tried to ask some questions but got post from "Tweak". So, all I wanted was to make sure the persons and experts knew what they were talking about so that I could have something to go from. I hope my symptoms were not from exposure but from my mind.

Come on Teak, all I'm asking is that the information that was given to me was to the best of their knowledge and that what was written and explained to me that I was really at a no-risk situation even with my current problems?

Ok Teak and anyone who can assist me here. I know that I was told that I was in a no risk situation and now I am in my 7th week. With everything that is happening and going on I have this irritated sun burn feel on my face and lips and the occassional joint paint in my left shoulder. I keep rinsing my face to see if it goes away and it does a little but comes back tingling afte a couple of hours. No before I get the "move on", is this something I should be worried about or is this really in my head because it sure does not feel like it. Over the last 2 1/2 to 3 weeks I have had the pain in my jaw/ear, joint pain, dizziness, and face and lips irritation. Has anyone heard of this relating to HIV ARS? Please, some good advice. Thank you...

I have a question to ask. How good are the results if you do the HIV Home Access Test at the 8th week and it turns out to be negative? Just asking for anyone who knows about this. Thanks!

You didn't have a risk and had you had a risk, a three month test is conclusive.

Hey, this is a question that I need to have answered. I know that everyone is telling me that I have no risk and shouldn't be worried. I did take a test at teh 8 week mark and was told that I should take another one at 12 weeks, I get this and I am going to take one again next week. One thing has been bothering me before I take the test and it has to do with me being fatigued and my arms being sore and my joints hurting. Is this in no way HIV related? It feels like I'm breathing hard in the minor exertions and my arms feel like when I exercise and tired...and slight sore all the time. It feels wierd and I have been doing some looking around on the net and sore muscles and joints is a common cause for HIV ARS....but I'm in my 17th week now. So shouldn't the ARS symptoms (if any) be gone or can they pop up past 4 weeks?

shouldn't the ARS symptoms (if any) be gone   YES

or can they pop up past 4 weeks?   NO

TIME TO MOVE ON, YOU HAD ZEEERRROOOO RISK.  Condoms work.  If your condom was intact thruout the sex, then you had no risk.

NOW, once and for all....move on.

Thanks nursegirl6572,
Between the information you and Teak put out, people shouldn't be worried if there is nothing there. I guess when people start freaking out, we start to second guess ourselves and that's when we start turning to the professionals and people who know things and start asking about a million questions. I mean, I was so paranoid that I even slept with the condom on and still wanted answers as to why this and why that. Thanks for both of your advises and sorry for pushing and now I will keep the information of what you both said in mind.
