hiv exposure, please help

So what brings me here is about four days ago I had sex with a transexual sex worker. Needless to say I was pretty drunk and have never done anything like this before. So I gave her oral with no condom there was no ejaculation of any sort. As I read this is a no risk situation as you put in an older post. Then I had anal sex with her where she was receiving. During that time the condom did break. We felt it break and immeditaly stopped and put a new one on. About 15 hrs after this incident I started to get a headache and feel hot.My temp is pretty normal as i've been checking highest 98.4. I've had muscle twtiching some diarrea, and a real bad headache that seemed to finally subside to day which is five days after the incedent. Could I have gotten hiv are my worries legitamte. I can't stand waiting and decided to not to do a pcnr test. and get my first oral swab test at three weeks. then again at four or five weeks. Also what do you they mean by open cuts because I have psorasis and have dry skin. And later after I got head with protection after the anal sex I noticed I had a skin tear just below my head. It started to burn for about five or ten minutes as I was leaving but at the time I just brushed it off.Since the encounter I've head a on and off persistant headache, muscle twitching, feeling hot, little bit of diahrea, and stomach and gut pains.  Can you please tell me what my risks actually where and how worried I should be?

Yeah, sometimes I get a little anxious and go on this site and when I read others people post I can't help but to try and help them from what I've learned through reading. My anxiety is pretty much controlled now. From 1-10 its probabbly a 2 or 3. I got some momentum with these past test so. I'm feeling much better.

No, I didn't get tested for scabbies but the doctor looked at them and said they looked like text book scabbies and gave me the cream. When I put the cream on head to toe about two hours into it I started shedding little dead skin sacs if you will and had one or two that were black colored and my skin condition seems to have gotten alot better within those two day.

Yes I cleaned my sheets and washed them in hot water. Going to clean everything in the house also.

Did they do a skin scraping to confirm scabies?  Have you been treated for it, and taken care of all household items?  Others living with you should be vigilant if you do indeed have scabies.

I see you've taken to giving advice.  Just a friendly caution that that will probably keep you stuck in the anxious "what if" thinking.  The last thing a person should do who is anxious about something is to overstimulate the mind with more exposure to that info.  Probably the last thing you need right now is to frequent HIV forums.

26th day antibody test negative. I know I jumped the gun by two days but i was feeling anxious. Couldn't find an duo test, Did but they wanted more for it than a pcr test so I just got an antibody test.

went to the doctor for skin condition. Turns out I got scabies. He gave me a cream and that I was to put on while I sleep. Scabies seem to be gone. They looked like classic scabies to him but they did not itch.Maybe they did a little but only a little bit and I couldn't even notice I was scratching until I thought about it afterwards. Classic look of scabies? Red bumps or dots with with a black center. Had them spreading and mainly on forearms. I know I had scabies because after wearing the night cream I could feel dead stuff shedding off my body and had one or two black shiny shell like things come off my skin. which probably was a scabbie.

DUO tests are harder to find in the US.  You basically will just have to call around and ask about it.

Yes, all rapid tests are antibody tests.  

Just FYI...the "what if" is anxiety...that's why I said it's best if you make a concerted effort not to sit around and overthink this...it will make you feel worse.

Thank you.. for your comment. It shows you care. Really appreciated. Just one last question where can you get a duo test. Are all rapid tests testing just for antibodies. I just want to make sure I cover all my bases. I will do the duo at four weeks just for added piece of mind then test at three months.

And just to let you know I am starting to reengage in life. I'm making some lifestyle changes and see the world in a new set of eyes.

And I just want to thank you and everyone who takes time to help those of us on here. Sometimes that "what if" just eats away at you.

You need to STOP testing so much!!!  And no, an oraquick is not a DUO test, it is an antibody test.

What's going to end up happening, which we see ALL the time...is you're going to test so much that you're going to be unlucky enough to end up with a false+, then your anxiety will be through thre roof.

You need to address the anxiety, not testing every week.  That's only going to fuel your anxiety about this.

Overall, due to the brevity of the exposure, it's not an extraordinarily high risk to begin with.  Chill out, get yourself engaged with life.  You can take the DUO at 4 weeks, then your follow up antibody test at 3 months to be done.  If you really continue to be anxious and have the urge to test, you could do an antibody test at 8 weeks, which would be highly unlikely to change.  Do NOT test anymore than that!  Even THAT is a lot, considering that you've already testing excessively.

can someone please tell me if an oraquick test is a duo test where it tests for anitbodies and antigens? I went to the website and they do not state weather it is or isn't

update: 19 day oraquick negative.

but, they test for viral loads or the virus. Ten days I should have tested positive if I was experiencing ars, right? If the symptoms I was feeling was due to ars,right? So the symptoms I am having are not related to ars? Which still doesn't change the fact that I need to test at 12 weeks to be conclusive. I just want to know if symptoms i'm feeling could be ars or something else. I'm trying to  book an apointment right now with a dermatologist.

if I was experiencing ars symptoms the dna test would of came positive, right? I've been noticing differnce in skin since about the fifth day and slowly on going.

severe acne, looks like pimples and black heads. I think I got a new mole a small one also. they are on face under arms arms and groin. and white bumps in mouth.

Yes I'm going to do an antibody test at 6 weeks and at 12. But it's looking good.

While your test result is reassuring, it is not conclusive.  Reread the replies above about testing.  We follow the official guidelines of 3 months for a conclusive result.

Negative! Got the results back from my HIV PCR DNA test. Test results negative.

On the tenth day the blood sample was taken.

For everyone else here scared about an exposure. Just know your risks and don't put yourself in risky situations. And beilive in the moderators.

can it appear with no other symtptoms?
Does it look like discolroed skin? natural skin tone mixed with swirly types of reddis purple colored skin. ?

thanks for the comment lydia. I will look into that. But first I just can't wait for my results. I don't know about AA but I should probabbly quit drinking and pick a new hobby.  Monday my results should  be in hopefully it's negative I'll let you guys know.

Since you have about 2 1/2 months before your CONCLUSIVE results are back, why not use this time to deal with some of the issues you've discussed.

You mention that you drink way too much and it's gotten you to the place you're at now. Maybe this would be a good time to call it quits? Think about checking out some AA meetings. You don't HAVE to be an alcoholic to go.............you just have be concerned about your drinking, which you are. I think you'll also find some friendship there that you also say is missing from your life. People there listen, they understand, they don't judge, and they care.

You might also want to consider seeing your doctor for a really thorough physical check up, and while you're there, you can discuss some of this emotional baggage you're hauling around. I think it would be a really good and positive step for you to ask for a referral to a therapist. I think you've got a lot of hurt and anger inside you and it's manifesting itself in a lot of negative, destructive and risky behaviors like the drinking and prostitutes. It's obviously causing you a great deal of unhappiness and anxiety. And all these things are fixable. But YOU gotta reach out. You gotta want that change.

You can use this time to begin those changes, George.

You can stay in the pit or you can start climbing out............isn't your life worth the effort to at least try?

well went to the clinic today getting tested for everything.
syphillis
herpes
gonoreaha/ clamidia
and I got a hiv dna test also so hopefully it comes back negative. And the blister I got on my penis was pretty much gone when I saw the doctor. So she didn't know what to make of it. She was smoking hot also, probabbly one of the most embarassing moments of my life. Well wish me luck I should get my results in 2-4 bussiness days.

If it comes back negative, I got two antibody test on the way. When do you think I should take them besides the three month marker?

If one has ARS symptoms they come on 2-4 weeks post exposure and last 1-2 weeks.
