hiv testing for pilots?

hello everyone,

does anyone have info if whether hiv testing is mandatory for pilots and co-pilots all over the world?

curious about it as my exposure was with an indian co-pilot 2 years ago .

I am unable to get, what does a mendatory HIV testing of co-pilots and pilots has to do with your exposure with one of those professionals. May be you wanted to get some peace of mind, if they are regularly tested for the infection. Is that so?

I am afraid, it would help much even if those professionals are under annual medical screening programs( and they are not as Teak told us)

You see, suppose an individual is tested for HIV in Januray this year and picks up infection in March, and if he does not experience ARS (many actually infected people don't) then he would assume himself "negative" until his next test is done. Meanwhile he will be able to transmit the disease to anyone come in sexual contact with him/her.

Bottom line is, after any situation of an unprotected sex, we should be careful about ourselves only (because it is the matter of our own life) and get tested after completion of the recommended window period of 3 months to have a final and conclusive assessment of our status.
