Teak and You need to make up your minds. You guys always talk about how world wide known the experts are in this website, and post all their comments for detailed answers, but again you and teak dont agree with the window period that they stand by. Stand alone antibody test is conclusive between 6-8 weeks, or if you dont want to wait that long, you can take duo test (antibody + p24 antigen) at 4 weeks, and it will be conclusive. If you want to go by CDC regulations, then you need to tell people that Oral Sex carries risk of HIV also. Choose a side?
there are no tests marketed or sold that give a conclusive result earlier than 3 months post exposure.
As far as I know it has nothing to do with HIV, and this confirms your test.
Now I do not want to speculate what might be, it is best to check with your doctor. Whatever it is has nothing to do with your HIV status.
Cheers
i am heterosexual...anal bleeding appear after 9 weeks from the exposure...it have no connection with the sexual act indded..it was a short heterosexual act when my penis was erect and i've got intercourse for few times..
You have not explained to us your exposure. Have you performed as insertive anal or receptive anal? Whether it was protected or unprotected anal sex?
But again, you do not have HIV because the Duo ELISA test is test of 4th generation and 8 weeks is enough for the test to be final and conclusive.
HIV is transmitted by some other fluids too, but anal bleeding is one of the most dangerous factors that may contribute to HIV transmission. Of course to become HIV+, the other person must be HIV positive.
But surely you have to do tests on other SPD's such as HBV and HCV, etc. Regarding HIV you are fine i negative.
