i need professional explaination about this

Hello expert,
I've been searching posts in this forum for weeks,and today i got signed.

I gave oral to a massage girl weeks ago and then i got worried so much. I've already read many posts about the oral sex and i know the oral study and you all said no risk.This made me feel better and thanks for all the help you did!

But one thing still worried me a lot.I 've read Teak and some other experts said saliva could inhibit the hiv virus and i guess that's the main reason for why oral is no risk. But today i read some articles which said saliva can't damage the cells that infected with hiv though saliva can inhibit the hiv virus.

Now i am worrying about it, what if saliva can't stop the cells that infected with hiv getting in me and then make more hiv again?

Could saliva inhibit the cells that infected with hiv too?

What are you talking about? Saliva is not infectious and contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibits HIV transmission.

I found some clarification about the way how saliva inhibits the infected cells.

"Recently, a novel mechanism of anti-HIV activity has been proposed; this mechanism involves the unique hypotonicity of saliva .
Saliva rapidly disrupted 90% or more of blood mononuclear leukocytes and other cultured cells.  Further experiments indicated that the cell disruption is due to the hypotonicity of saliva."

I think it should be correct.

Salivary agglutinin (SAG) is a high molecular mass glycoprotein (340 kDa) that plays important roles in innate immunity. SAG has been found to specifically inhibit HIV-1 infectivity and to bind to virus through the envelope protein gp120. Although SAG binds to gp120 of the virus, the exact nature of this binding has not been characterized. Using surface plasmon resonance technology, we have found that SAG interacts with recombinant envelopes derived from diverse HIV-1 isolates with KD values ranging from 10-7 to 10-10 M, comparable to gp120-sCD4 binding. Furthermore, SAG binding to gp120 is Ca2+ dependent. sCD4 prebound to gp120 failed to abrogate SAG binding, suggesting a distinct mechanism for SAG inhibition of HIV-1 infectivity. Inhibition by monoclonal antibodies specific for carbohydrates also implicates the involvement of carbohydrates in the interaction between SAG and gp120. These results argue that the anti-HIV-1 activity of SAG is due to carbohydrate-mediated binding to gp120. A demonstration that SAG is related to lung scavenger receptor, gp-340, further suggests the roles of SAG in preventing pathogen invasion at the entry portal and raises its potential as an anti-HIV-1 drug candidate.

If oral sex were a genuine mode of HIV transmission there would be millions more people infected in the world.This is not the case.

I am talking about the oral exposure!

First,there must be infected cells and cells-free hiv particles in the infectious fluid(like semen)
If a person exposed to the infectious fluids (like semen) with his mouth ,even salive contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibits HIV partile, but what could saliva do to these  infected cells ?

SO what saliva could do to these cells infected with hiv ?

I know saliva contains lots of protein to inhibit or damage the cell-free HIV particles,but what saliva could do to these cells which already infected with hiv ? If these cells went into your body,you may also get infected,wasn't it?

Oh ok...so now a 12 year old study, doesn't hold up. You didn't have a risk and need to believe that.

And the study is not from 2004,it was done in 2000.

really thanks

you did not get what i meant,i do NOT dought that "saliva inhibits the hiv virus" and i've searched a lot,saliva indeed inhibit the virus(like damage the outer part of hiv or block the entry of hiv)

but for now i am worrying "SALIVA DOSE NOT INHIBIT THE CELLS WHICH INFECTED BY HIV" ,and if the cells from the girl get into my body and her INFECTED CELLS WOULD MAKE HIV IN MY BODY THEN CAUSE INFECTION.

i don't think it's gonna be no risk...am i mad or?

That "study" was from May 2004. Dr. Gonzalez in the Expert forum talks about a more recent study which shows the virus is inhibited and deactivated by saliva.

The study which you read, read again "may occur" and this was not an at length study like several others before and after it.

I 've read the links in the post and then i even read the references of the quote part _
"In a laboratory study designed to explore the oral transmission of HIV by seminal fluid and colostrum, normal donor samples of human milk, colostrum, seminal fluid and blood were separately combined with samples of saliva and HIV-infected white blood cells. All samples, in normal physiologic volumes, prevented saliva from inactivating the HIV-infected blood cells, leading the researchers to conclude that successful oral transmission of HIV by seminal fluid, milk and colostrum may occur"


After i read this and the references of this part, i think the authore tried to say _
The infected blood cells can also make new hiv virus after combined with saliva and seminal fluid or colostrum.

What is your opinion?

You don't have any cells that are infected when you are first exposed. You post makes no sense and post the link so I can understand what you read.
