lymphocytes high and low neutrophils extremely worried about hiv..

Dear experts before 3 weeks i had vaginal exposure with a prostiture..After that next week i got mild fever and sore throat...and from 2 weeks m having muscle pains..For that i visited my doctor and he told me to do complete blood count..i did complete blood count  in which my total wbc was 10.8 K/uL ( normal range is in between 4-11) my neutrophils count were 37% ( normal range is in between 40-75 % ) and my lymphocytes count are 56 % normal range is in between 20 to 45 % ) m really scared about my increasing lymphocytes and decreasing neutrophils..my doctor told me that this is because of viral infection and hiv is a viral infection right?? i have read in many forums that high lymphocytes and low neutrophils occurs in initial stage of hiv infection..Is this correct?? m really scared please give some advice :(

All that matters is conclusive negative hiv tests. I have had chronic lymphocytosis and painful lymph nodes since my unprotected vaginal exposure 11 months ago. Still investigating the cause but no progression in symptoms. Last movements are MRI of pelvic area last week. Pain in lower abdomen and groin/pelvis since exposure. Docs are guessing muscle or nerve spasms , but the lymphocyte increasement is still a mystery. Have had my bloodcells under the microscope and nothing abnormal was found. Have your conclusive hiv test..full std panel and trust your results. Then work with your doc to find other causes. Best of luck!!

PCR-RNA is not the first test to take.

Just a quick search for high lymphocytes and low neutrophils on google even shows nothing to do with HIV.  Yes it could mean that it's some sort of "viral infection" and your doctor has already told you what viral infection that is.  Try resolving your problems with him/her first.  If you're worried about HIV then take an HIV test.  A CBC will not tell your HIV status.  Since you're so anxious you should try a 4th Generation DUO test, or HIV RNA test.  These tests can pick up infection very early and if you're negative then that is highly likely to remain that way.  You will need a final test at 3 months to confirm and definitively rule out HIV.  But until then, hassling these folks on here will not help you.  I promise you that.
