please help teak!

I know I have posted numerous times before but my symptoms are worsenng and i am so frightened to retest, please help teak!

My story goes like this,  I very stupidly had unprottected vaginal sex with a lady I have known for 3 years.  My symptoms started 3-4 days after which was burning/painful scrtum and thighs, also tip of penis, no discharge.  visted gum clinic, tested neg for chlamydia, ghonnorea, gave me two weeks doxycycline which seemed to do trick.  However about 3/4 weeks later my symptoms started, felt hot flushes but no fever, got rash not raised but red blotchy which came and went on quite a few occassions.  I have been getting more and more oral problems such as burning/tingling sensation in lips and tongue.  Now I have pain/tingling in my neck and behind ears and behing knees.  I cannot see any swelling.  I tested neg at 7weeks for hiv at gum clinic but my symtoms persist, do you think my problems are hiv related??

only cos i had/have genuine risk, i didnt ask nursegirl to answer, she chose to and her answer mislead me to think that i had conclusive test at 7 weeks, its all confusing when somw people say that my 7 week test is conclusive but retest at 3 months just to be safe, then others like you say only a test after 3 month is conclusive. I am sorry for being such a hindrence on you but these last 18 weeks have been hell and the next week waiting for the test results will be hall again, I have two little girls and have so much to lose.  I hope its neg. Goodbye.

Your result was conclusive.  You don't have HIV, and like lizzie said...time to move on....all we're doing at this point is repeating ourselves.

Consider this a VERY valuable lesson learned.  Sex lasts a moment, HIV lasts a lifetime.

You are once again right.  I have took your advice finally and have just returned from the GUM clinic where I have retested, I asked which test it was and both my negative 7 week test and this one at  18 weeks post exposure is the antigen and antibody test, I believe this is the fourth generation test??  The doctor tells me that it is highly unlikely for a 7 week duo test to be neg at 7 weeks and then pos at 3 months, would you agree?

Lymph nodes are not painful with HIV. 3 months is when you can obtain your conclusive test result.

i'm not going to play the "symptoms game".

you should know...after 44 posts/comments...that a test at 7 weeks is a good indication of your status but that ONLY a test at 3 months will give you a conclusive test result.

come back when you have your result.

thanks lizzie, dr h told me that people only recommend 3 month testing as conclusive to cover themselves, he has told me my 7 week test is accurate and to trust it, so has my gp, i trust your feedback along with teak as you both have personal experience of HIV.  I know symptoms are no indicator, but do you or have you ever come across someone at my poss exposure point still having the symptoms i am having? thank you lizzie

there is not a test on the market that claims to give a conclusive test result earlier than 3 months post exposure.

i know, you are right lizzie, one drunken stupid night could have ruined my life and that of so many people who are close to me.  I get confused because you and teak tell me only 3 month test is conclusive, yet the doctors on the expert forum tell me my 7 week neg test was conclusive and not to worry, why is this? I have so many symptoms which appear to be HIV related, cant help but worry, if my test is pos it will ruin so many lives, my daughters and my wife who i have let down so much. im so sorry.

we cannot babysit you through this.  you choose to have unprotected sex and you know that only a test at 3 months will give you a conclusive result.
